Washington & Oregon Coasts

Long Beach, WA. The rain stopped long enough for me to take a stroll along their boardwalk from which I shot this. Not clear from this digital shot, the setting sun was shimmering brightly on the horizon.
This is the phallic Column of Astoria, OR. The outside walls are decorated with a mural depicting the history of OR. 162 steps to the top.
From the top of the Column, you get quite a view of city's surrounding. This is a shot looking south-west towards the Columbia.
Beautiful black aspen. I ran off the road looking at them.
Finally, some nearly honest to goodness sun--well, let's say, no rain. Ecoli State Park, OR. This was from the official Viewpoint above the beach.

Another Ecoli view looking south at volcanic sea plugs. There are several along the coast called "Haystack". I guess they all looked like Haystacks to the people who named them. The "Haystack" in Ecoli is huge -- probably 500-600 feet tall.

My pics don't do it justice but, this scene is beautiful! Supposedly the most photographed view of the OR coast.

Ecoli again.
