Arches National Park (Moab, UT) to Amarillo, TX

The Arches National Park is so photogenic that several well-published photographers have taken up residence in Moab, UT. Honestly, it's hard to screw up a shot here but, it's also hard to wait around for the best light. So you get what I saw.
This is the showcase arch in the park, The Delicate Arch, to which you have to hike over "sliprock" a couple of miles to see. It's well worth the walk and you have to have patience with everyone else who's there with you to get the Hell out of the way to take a pic. Click to enlarge so you can see the snow-capped mountains in the background.
Snowcapped mountains surrounding red-rock.
Fishers Towers just north-east of Moab. Often featured in movies and car commercials. I recognized it from the backdrop of the scene in "Forrest Gump" when at the end of his running, he says, "I'm pretty tired. I think I'll go home now." They must of CGI'd it because there is no paved road that has the towers in view.
Desert fauna at Fishers Rock.
The chapel at the U.S. Air Force Academy. It's designed to look like wings. Very pretty although under construction.
Air Force cadets marching around before lunch. Basically, government sanctioned hazing.
Just east of Amarillo, TX, there are 10 Cadillacs stuffed into the ground head first. It's a project that's been here since 1972? started by a bunch of artsies in SF. It's a Route 66 Mother Road site.
Here's a close-up of the Cadillacs. The graffiti is occasionally painted over for music videos or movies.
movie I figured out how to use the "movie" feature of my camera. You'll need something that can read an .AVI. Only click "movie" if you're on a fast connection b/c it's 3MB.
